Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

Did anyone else see this (BBC Four, Sunday)?  Quite a serious, and interesting, program despite the slightly daft title.
If you can't do it with a fag or a shot glass in your other hand, it's not a proper judo hold.

watched it last night - not a bad historic, but no real content for real martial artists. Still it was nice to see jitsu as an art in its own right rather than the way it is often perceived.

Interesting watch, strangely I've been watching some old UK videos on YouTube of females doing JuJitsu, they used one of these in the BBC documentary.  I find the history of martial arts fascinating :)

Which is why I never understand why I see so many women in karate classes, and none in Jitsu.

Fairly interesting that the suffragettes used jitsu, just hits home the point that we're all about technique and less about strength,

It spent seconds on what happened after the early 1980s and seemed to miss out entirely certain important (but not necessarily good) MAs which have had a great impact in the UK - TKD springs to mind.
